About Us

World Orphan Fund (WOF) is an Australian local community based organisation inspired by 30 years of international humanitarian aid work.

WOF strives to alleviate the hardships of underprivileged communities, whether affected by natural disaster, war and trauma, poverty or human rights abuses. Our experience, professional standards, dedicated volunteers and 100% donation policy are at the core of our values.

In the past 5 years World Orphan Fund has made immense progress in its current country of focus, Cambodia.

A major initiative when we started was to create a new volunteer team and support network to facilitate access to emergency relief and medical aid. As a result, World Orphan Fund Cambodia was established – our on the ground local volunteer team, which has enabled us to reach out to many poverty stricken communities through various projects.

A major branch of WOF is our Orphan Sponsorship program, which provides vulnerable children with the resources and facilities to grow and develop emotionally, physically, socially and mentally. Our objective is break the cycle of poverty by providing compulsory schooling & educational support for all our children. Sponsorship also covers medical support, dental treatment to international standards, recreational activities and bi-annual checks.

WOF carries out numerous annual projects to provide food, aid and medical treatment. Our Ramadan Food Pack project has grown over the years and we are now able to provide food to more than 5 countries in South East Asia – our efforts in 2017 included distribution of food packs to Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam! We also carry out Adhiya/Qurban and emergency flood relief annually, as well as Zakaat and Sadaqa throughout the year. We work closely with our international vision partners, and have previously sent aid to famine stricken Somalia and refugees in Jordan.

The successful completion of these goals has inspired initiatives of self-sustainability, which are currently in effect in multiple forms. This includes the purchase of land in Cambodia for environmentally sustainable practice, carbon-offset projects, land cultivation of farmland and machinery. Our aim is to be a part of the ongoing regrowth in the Cambodian community from grassroots, by equipping the local community with the skills and knowledge they need to kick start their self-sustainable farming projects through education and on-ground professional assistance.

WOFs commitment to local communities is esteemed in our everyday lives. As humanitarians and global visionaries our team work closely with our Australian community to raise awareness, inspire and be inspired and foster an environment of cohesion and support.
